Tom's Diner |
(Solitude Standing, 1987) |
I'm
sitting to the morning at the diner on the corner
I'm waiting at the counter for the man to pour the coffee And he lose it on a half way and before I even argue He is looking at the window at somebody coming in Tu tu tu tu... "It is always nice to see you" - says the man behind the counter To the woman who has come in, she is shaking her umbrella And I look the other way as they are kissing, they are loosing I'm pretend that glad to see them an instead of poison nog Tu tu tu tu... I open up the paper with the story of an actor Who had died but he was drinking with no one I had hearded And I turning to the horoscope and looking for the funnies But I'm feeling someone watching me and so I raised my head Tu tu tu tu... There's the woman on the outside looking inside and she sees me No she does not really see me, 'cause she sees her own reflection And I'm trying but to notice that she's inching out for scuttering 'Cause she straighten here her stockings. Oh, here is gotting wet! Tu tu tu tu... Oh this raining will continue through the morning as I'm listening To the bells of the Cathedral... I am thinking of your voice... |
